Virtual Reality Computer Games

If you were around in the early 90s then you may have seen a virtual reality computer game in your local shopping centre where they were thought to be the next big thing to sweep the nation. Despite the games placing you in the seat of a jet fighter pilot for example, they just didn’t take off the way they were expected to.

The main problem with these games was the fact that there weren’t gloves to control them like we have today and the helmet that had to be worn weighed a tonne. The lack of control and the heavy helmets probably played a huge role in the failure of these machines which were actually really expensive to play on. The graphics and technology were not very good but at least if the games had been good, that could have been forgiven. One big hit and we would all be playing virtual reality games in our living rooms now.

In 2007 there was a new upsurge in virtual reality gaming and this was brought about by companies like Icuiti who produced a version of the virtual reality head set that actually fit in a pair of glasses that you would wear quite easily. This new headset was known as the iWear VR920 game controller and it allowed you to become a part of the game; it could be used with role playing games which were already very popular so it became the first of the next generation virtual reality games.

Giving the impression of being inside a game with the help of a headset or glasses is something that a lot of game developers have been working on over the years. With 3D surround sound earphones, you could become even more immersed in the game and you could just get away from reality for a while.

R4i are items present in many things in today’s era. An RD card can give you a fantastic example of a memory card. One more thing currently in use today is the ps3 jailbreak.

Top Advice For New Gamers

If you are new to the world of gaming you may have a few questions on your mind. This can be a really rewarding hobby, and if you get really good at it, or like writing about it, you could even make a bit of money. If you are a new gamer then you may benefit from some of the advice below.

- A big decision that you have to make is whether you are going to be playing console gaming or PC gaming. Those who play on consoles and those who prefer to play their games on their PC will argue hotly with each other about which one is best with both believing that their choice cannot be beaten. It is not for me to tell you which one to choose, you will have to make that decision on your own. It is probably best if you make a choice that you are going to stick to; unless that is, you are planning to play on both platforms.

- Building your own computer could enhance your enjoyment even more if it is PC gaming that you are going to choose. There are many people who would have no idea about building their own computer and would just prefer to improve the PC that they already have; in this case it may be as simple as buying a new video gaming card and adding it to their existing computer.

- If consoles are what you want to use to play games, then the platform you are going to use is something you need to think about. This is an important choice because it will influence the types of games you will get to enjoy in the future. Games consoles are often replaced by the manufacturers and when this happens they tend to stop making games for the old models so you have to bear this in mind when making your choice.

Carte R4 and gaming cards are crucial to players every place, hence being prepared for most situations is definitely the way to go. Other things essential to gamers are Accessoires Wii and Carte M3 DS Real.

Gaming Addiction Debunked

Gaming Addiction Debunked Recognize the risks and be safe.

A responsible look at Computer Games addiction.

There are many potential benefits to be derived from Computer gaming, as we have seen in Parts 1 and 2 of this article and there will be frequent instances where one might encourage the use of gaming to improve one’s own life and that of family and friends. In spite of this, it would be foolhardy to totally disregard the possibility of the risks, however improbable it may be that they concern you personally or indeed those for whom you might be regarded as responsible.

There are a few hard-hitting facts in the next few paragraphs but this should not discourage you and we finish as we started, on a positive and encouraging note.

Social tragedies associated with computer gaming addiction are becoming more common and there is a rising trend of reported and anecdotal evidence of how gaming addiction can lead to job losses, family break-ups, marriage failure and even deaths

Many of you will have heard of the headline case of 2005 when Lee Seung Seop visited an Internet cafe in the city of Taegu in South Korea and played StarCraft almost continuously for fifty hours.  He went into cardiac arrest and died at a local hospital. “We presume the cause of death was heart failure stemming from exhaustion,” a Taegu provincial police official told the Reuters news agency. The police were not aware of the man having suffered from other health conditions prior to the tragic event and mentioned that the man had been fired from his job for repeated tardiness and missing work to indulge in his computer gaming addiction.

An acquaintance of Lee is quoted as saying “…he was a game addict. We all knew about it. He couldn’t stop himself.”

A fascinating fact but perhaps not surprising 15 million + people, or 30% of the population, are registered for online gaming in South Korea.   Unsuprisingly, it is a South Korean corporation that runs the World Cyber Games, an annual event backed amongst others by A-list corporations Samsung and Microsoft.

Citing death as a consequence of Computer Game Addiction is thankfully an extreme example and some of you may recognize in yourselves, if not exact parallels with Lee’s demise, certainly the potential for something similar happening to you.

What conclusion can we draw from the Computer Gaming Addiction issue?

See if you might be suffering from Computer Gaming Addiction by answering the following questions:

#  Do you find you need to play more and more hours in order to satisfy your need for the excitement?
#  Do you find yourself thinking about gaming even when away from your computer, perhaps planning or anticipating your next session ?
#  Did you ever lie to family and friends rather than admit to them the true amount of time you spend on computer gaming?
#  Whenever you try to cut down on your computer gaming, do you find it makes you feel irritable or restless?
#  Have you made repeated attempts to control, cut down, or stop computer gaming?
#  Do you ever use computer gaming to take your mind off of personal problems, feelings of helplessness, guilt anxiety or even depression?
#  Have you ever risked endangering your marriage or another important relationship in order to indulge in your computer gaming?
#  Have you ever risked or lost a job, missed  an educational opportunity or a career move because of your computer gaming?

You may be addicted to computer gaming if the answer is yes to any of these questions. These are the basic signs that you may well have lost control. It is best not to ignore the signs before seeking help, even self-help to deal with it.

Most of us will know in our hearts if we are spending too much time at computer gaming even before doing the tests. Home-based video games are less likely to become addictive compared to MMORPGs and online gaming according to research on the subject.  Perhaps try more to “keep local” with your friends and family rather than going online to compete.

Perhaps a Golden Rule to achieve healthy gaming is ensure variety rather than sticking purely to one form of gaming.or another.

This is one of three concise articles, dealing with the issue of Computer Games Addiction. Submitted by a site dedicated to computer video and online gaming and endeavour to put a sensible perspective on this important issue.

Games Addiction in Context

Games Addiction in Context Have fun and keep safe.

Problem or Not? We take a responsible look at Computer Game Addiction

There is Plenty of Room for Optimism

The generic term “Computer Gaming” covers all types of games played on computers.  It should be pointed out that there is a distinction between “Online gaming” and “Video Gaming”. “Online Gaming” frequently involves “MMORPGs” – Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games – where you log in to a virtual arena and join a large contest involving several others, perhaps running to hundreds at a time. One invariably plays Video Games in private with friends and family or perhaps on one’s own, with games on your own computer which you probably purchased by downloading, bought in a box from your local Video Games retailer or on eBay or even swapped with your friends. Video Games have been around since the late 1960s and people of all generations will have played one at some time but perhaps not so MMORPGs. Research tends to show that it is the MMORPGs with their wider social contact that lead to more damaging instances of addiction; but not always!

There’s some good news: quoted by BBC News, Keith Bakker, founder and principal of Europe’s first clinic to treat gaming addicts, reckons that 90 per cent of young people seeking treatment for compulsive computer gaming are not in fact addicted.

The Smith & Jones Centre in Amsterdam has treated hundreds of young gamers from all over the world since the clinic opened in 2006; but has changed its treatment methods since realizing that compulsive computer gaming is not a psychological illness but a social one.

The American Psychological Association in 2007, conducted research to determine if computer video game addiction should be added or not to the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders being released in 2012. Gamers will be happy to hear their conclusion was that there was not enough evidence to confirm that addiction to computer video games was a disorder.

Flying Simulator Airports

Recently, flight simulator games no longer use made-up airports. A good deal of research and development have been exerted into making these games as lifelike as possible. This is vital for flight simulator games because many flight simulations are used to train flight crews on how to control an airplane and land even in an emergency. This is why factual flight simulator airports must be used as well. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) claims that globally, there is in excess of 20,000 airports and that it is best if you practice flying on a simulator that uses actual airports instead of invented ones specially if you are training to be a pilot

Flight Sim Pro not only is presently the best flight simulator on the market, it also has the best flight simulator airport as well. There are more than 20,000 real airports included in the full scenery set – you can land in airports all over the world. Not only does Flight Sim Pro make use of real world airports, the airports also have accurate runway markings and lighting. Thus, as you play the game, you will learn about the airports around the world and when you travel, you will feel like you have been to the airports before simply because you actually have been in the flight simulator airports.

The problem with a lot of flight simulator games is that not so much focus is put on the airports and more focus is put on the planes and the controls. Real airports are considered necessary in order for a flight simulator to successfully simulate real life. If you are on the lookout for a realistic flight simulator game, you should confirm if the game features real airports.

There are a lot of free flight simulator airport downloads available online but they are not worth your time or energy to download as they are not genuine and they do not use real airports. If you are in search of a flight simulator airport, then you are probably a trainee pilot or you just need to learn how to fly a plane. In this case, you should download the Flight Sim Pro which makes use of accurate flight models and land mappings provided by NASA and the US Defense Mapping Agency.

Whenever I play this game, I love landing on some of the major airports of the world like LAX and Heathrow. In your case, where would you want to land your plane when using a PC flight simulator?I am positive that if you think of any airport worldwide, you will be able to land in that airport with Flight Sim Pro.

Another thing you will like about the Flight Sim Pro is the fact that it uses Google Maps so your experience will be more realistic since you can see other planes on your radar and you will also have to wait for a queue each time you have to land on an airport.

Problem or Not? We take a responsible look at Computer Game Addiction

Several surveys have found that video games in the home often help with family bonding.  Other benefits that have been supported by research are that parents have found their children frequently exhibit improved hand-eye co-ordination and manual motor functions, enhanced memory, opportunities for learning and cognitive exercise, stress relief,  relaxation and improved self-confidence. Physical fitness can be added to the list of any family owning a Nintendo Wii!

Psychologist Professor Mark Griffiths, author of several in-depth studies into online gaming and gambling addiction, has told news stations that according to his research, playing excessively was not problematic in any shape or form for the majority of gamers.

He did add, however, that: “It does seem to be the case that online gaming addiction for a small minority is a real phenomenon and people suffer the same symptoms as traditional addictions.” “But the good news is that it is a small minority.”

Professor Griffiths adds that “MMORPGs – Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games – are the types of games that completely engross the player. They are not games that you can play for 20 minutes and stop. “If you are going to take it seriously, you have to spend time doing it,” he said.

Four players out of 540 gamers in a detailed survey conducted by Professor Griffiths and his team – less than 0.75% – were found to be playing more than 80 hours a week, which by accepted standards is considered excessive. So, is this a case of “I can handle it?” “Healthy enthusiasm” or “unhealthy addiction?” People who sacrifice jobs, partners and loved ones are considered “extreme players” warns Professor Griffiths.

The advice was that if worried about gaming addiction, to contact one’s doctor to be referred to a psychologist

Over the last ten years, internet addiction disorder has become much more prevalent and not least amongst the offenders are Online and Video Games. Compulsive computer gaming is receiving greater recognition as a condition requiring treatment with a growing tally of headline cases appearing. However, it is by no means a doom and gloom scenario and there is much to be positive about as detailed earlier and in the final part of this article to follow.

This is one of three concise articles, looking at the thorny matter of Computer Gaming Addicition. The articles have been researched and written by a site dedicated to Video and Online Gaming with the purpose of presenting a balanced and proportionate view of this important topic.

Funny Simpsons Arcade Game

I was not a gaming fan, but have now become one. After I discovered this particular Arcade game. I was checking something about iPhones on this blog, iphonehelp.in, when I stumbled on a post which reviewed Simpson’s Arcade game. And have to say my views are parallel to the reviewer’s.

For all the Simpsons supporters here is ““The Simpsons Arcade”. The game is very interesting and includes 25+ levels in 6 diverse environments. I have not still reached to all the levels but in early few levels it’s wonderful to play as Homer to get his doughnut- driven destiny. There are “Family Frenzy” power- ups to ask for help from Marge, Maggie, Lisa and Bart, who can come to Homer’s rescue.

This is one of the wonderful arcade games I have come across. The touch screen handles that are ok to hit, grab and flip, kick, butt slam, hop, pick up and throw objects, belly flop, and dodge enemies. I would rate the games UI and touch screen control A+ where there are some hilarious engagements for the players like “Slap Homer” back to life, indulge in “Doughnut Dreams, ” or participate in “Inflato- Head” balloon blowing up contest.

Game’s music is equally funky and funny and it adds much more thrill while playing. Nevertheless, one can choose the option of playing one’s own beloved number.

All in all a terrific arcade game but few variations will make it best like quicker start, ie it takes a great deal of time to display all the title screens every time you play, as well as the ability to save from the exactly place where you left away.

I have always loved the Simpsons, but this game makes me love Simpsons all the more. I would suggest all Simpsons fans or anyone who likes playing games to test out Simpsons Arcade game.
